Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be holding a little celebration of the Tour de France – by giving away a free coffee/beverage of choice to the first customer of the day who mentions the previous nights Stage (”Étape”) winner.
Cafe opens at 8am, so get in early. For purists, ask nicely & we’ll pour your coffee into a bowl, ready to dip your rustic toast or croissant to start your cycling day.

Our cafe includes a large rear lounge area and gallery space, which is available for events, private functions & exhibitions.
As we’re a family-friendly cafe, it’s also quite handy if you have littlies in prams, as well as meeting your friends or even a group ride meeting point for those pre or post ride coffees.
Please feel free to contact us if you want to have a event, exhibition or private function at the cafe.

We’re created a humble “educational” Tour de France homage in the HP cafe, along with numerous images of Eddy Merckx, sunflowers, approx. 10 metres of mini-TdF jerseys (”maillot”) and some new culinary creations in the shape of maillot blanc, maillot vert, maillot jeune, maillot à pois rouges biccies.
Also including Phil & Paul bingo cards. Enjoy.

The Human Powered Cafe lounge space is hosting the 91 No Time! exhibition with new works by local artists AMOS & Colby from Thursday 17th June to mid July 2010.
The opening night of 91 No Time! commences at 6pm and goes through to 9pm. Note: video installations will only be shown on Thursdays opening night, so be sure to come along, bring your friends & enjoy the evenings events. See below for a selection of AMOS & Colby’s works.

The Human Powered Cafe will be the venue for the Melbourne Bicycle Film Festival Bike Shorts on Friday 13th & Saturday 14th November. We’ll screening the videos in our spacious lounge. This event is free & screening times will cater for those of you either nipping in from work or those who wish to go out just a tad later, i.e.: the content will repeat twice during the evening. In addition, some of the film makers will be available to discuss their creations. Stay tuned for more details.

Riding in from the northern suburbs on Ride to Work Day?
Free tea or coffee is available from the Human Powered Cafe for ride to work participants between 7am and 9am.
Full breakfast menu available for purchase.

Yes, we’re opening up the Human Powered Cafe from 9am – 4pm on Sundays, just in time for Daylight Savings!
Please remember to turn all your clocks forward 1 hour late on Saturday October 3rd, since that’s actually more civilised than waiting up until 2am Sunday morning to do it.
If you’re not happy about losing a hour’s beauty sleep, then we’re got coffee and extra special Buckwheat pancakes to lift your spirits.

From the Bicycle Film Festival: The BFF is back and better than ever before. This November we will be hitting the streets of Melbourne to celebrate every aspect of bike culture, and we want you to take part. To complement our program of international films, we are pleased to be working with Human Powered in Thornbury to present a program of locally made films about bikes.
